An award winning luxury Perthshire hotel
Over the recent years, both the Hotel and the Estate Farm have
enjoyed winning many awards, under the careful guidance of Jody
Marshall, Ballathie's General Manager, the Hotel 's recognition
continues throughout 2014.

Ballathie has just been awarded one of the Scottish Hospitality
Industry's most coveted accolades - Independent Hotel of the Year
2014 at the Catering in Scotland (CIS) Excellence Awards.
The CIS Excellence Awards has become established as one of the
most important and well respected award programmes in Scotland
recognising and rewarding true excellence. Judged by some of
the most prominenet chief executives, chairmen, hoteliers and chefs
in the industry, those nominated are up against the stiffest of
The CIS Excellence Awards' judging panel found Ballathie to be a
"successful, stand-alone establishement located in Scotland which
possesses a 100% commitment to guest satisfaction". Amongst other
qualities they looked for a hotel which demonstrated without doubt
that they "recognise the importance of staff and skills development
as essential elements of the business"

Ballathie is delighted to announce winning the Best Cheeseboard in
Scotland and the UK.
The award was recently announced at the British Cheese Awards in
the village of Churchill near Oxford in the heart of the Cotswold
"It was a very pleasant surprise. We weren't expecting to win
such an honour because of the popularity of the Awards and huge
number of entrants," said Ballathie's General Manager, Jody
He added: "It's the latest example of the great culinary strides
we're achieving at Ballathie to make it a major dining destination.
Cheese is part of Britain's food heritage and an important part of
Ballathie offers a minimum of 13 cheeses on its dinner trolley.
Head Chef Scott Scorer also makes the hotel's own soft cheese and
biscuits, bread and chutney.
More than 180 makers entered 910 different cheeses in the Awards
which this year celebrated their 20th anniversary and launched
British Cheese Week.
The award, based on reports from cheesemakers, cheese lovers and
diners, is the most prestigious award set up to acknowledge and
reward those in the hospitality industry with the best quality,
selection and inspiring British cheeseboard.
It was the second year in succession that Jody had carried off
the top cheeseboard award which he won last year at the Summer
Isles Hotel at at Achiltibuie in Ross-shire.
