An award winning luxury Perthshire hotel

Over the recent years, Ballathie has enjoyed winning many awards, under the careful guidance of Andrew Seal, Ballathie's General Manager, the Hotel's recognition continues throughout 2016.

April 2016

The 13th annual Scottish Hotel Awards was a good night for Ballathie.  Winning Country Sporting Hotel of the Year was an honour and a delight. The award gave recognition that Ballathie knows how to look after guests who travel to enjoy Countryside sports, and does so with extremely high standards and understanding of the needs particular to each sport.

Not content with one fabulous award, Head Chef Scott Scorer was awarded a Peoples award from the Scottish Hotel Awards on the same evening - Executive Hotel Chef of the Year.  Recognition of his wealth of knowledge and commitment to his role as Head Chef.  With a  passion for fresh local produce, his food really is a feast for the eyes and a treat for the tastebuds. Our guests return again and again to Ballathie and are always extremely delighted with the quality and choice offered on Scott's daily changing menu.

winner of the best cheeseboard in scotland and the uk

The award was recently announced at the British Cheese Awards in the village of Churchill near Oxford in the heart of the Cotswold hills.

"It was a very pleasant surprise. We weren't expecting to win such an honour because of the popularity of the Awards and huge number of entrants," said Ballathie's General Manager, Jody Marshall.

He added: "It's the latest example of the great culinary strides we're achieving at Ballathie to make it a major dining destination. Cheese is part of Britain's food heritage and an important part of a meal."

Ballathie offers a minimum of 13 cheeses on its dinner trolley. Head Chef Scott Scorer also makes the hotel's own soft cheese and biscuits, bread and chutney.

More than 180 makers entered 910 different cheeses in the Awards which this year celebrated their 20th anniversary and launched British Cheese Week.
